Hightide Store New York City – Just Opened

HIGHTIDE USA INC., based in Los Angeles,
has opened HIGHTIDE STORE NEW YORK CITY
in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village.

From its early bohemian communities to the 1950s, when figures such as Allen Ginsberg and Jack Kerouac gathered here, this neighborhood has long nurtured a spirit of living freely and expressing freely.

In this historic place, we hope to once again create a small space
where creativity can quietly take shape.

In Japan, stationery has been cultivated not merely as a set of tools, but as an expression of everyday aesthetics—objects that receive and hold time and emotion.
The act of writing itself is not just a means of recording, but a way of re-weaving thought and feeling through the body.

As SNS and AI continue to accelerate,
we believe it is more important than ever to reaffirm the value of thinking, writing,
and leaving traces by hand.

At a time when online platforms dominate
and cities around the world are beginning to look the same, we choose to value the serendipity and human connections that can only emerge in a physical space.

The logo was designed by Los Angeles–based designer, Yusuke Tsukamoto
(a.k.a. KATSUO DESIGN). The
typeface evokes the typewriters beloved by the Beats, while the infinity (∞) symbol formed by a pencil represents the boundless potential of stationery and our wish for creativity to continue without end.
