Geisodo stands as Japan's exclusive publisher specializing in woodblock-printed books. Since its inception, Geisodo has collaborated with artisans known as "designers" who craft patterns for various mediums like dyeing, weaving, ceramics, and lacquerware, releasing diverse woodblock-printed pattern collections. Notably, "Bijutsu-kai" represents a distinct compilation, akin to Japan's Art Nouveau, featuring unique designs. From this compilation, the "Tanabata decorations" have been chosen for the Weeks edition. Tanabata, a traditional Japanese festival observed on July 7th, involves inscribing wishes on small strips of paper called "tanzaku" and hanging them on bamboo branches. This design captures the essence of Japanese tradition, encapsulating its colors and motifs.
