Always sells-out when we stock, the Yotsume Somenunosha's Calendar for 2026 is finally here!
The 2024 and 2025 Yotsume Somnunosha calendars featured motifs inspired by the climate of Kyushu, partly because the printmaker lived in Oita Prefecture in Kyushu.
This time, rather than focusing on the unique climate of a specific region, the designs revisit the rich scenery of Japan's four seasons, emphasizing the natural transitions as much as possible.
This April 2025, the designer and artist, Ono and his family relocated to his hometown of Hiroshima. Changing where you live transforms your entire daily life, making you notice things you'd normally overlook.
Rain, sunlight, the pleasantness of the wind—these everyday trifles start to feel special. For the 2026 calendar, Ono envisioned expressing this everyday nature and the four seasons of Japan. As usual, the quality of the paper varies each month, enjoy the different textures as you turn the pages.

At Yotsume Dye House, Toyokazu Ono uses a traditional Japanese dyeing technique called Katazome to create household items like tenuguis ( tea towels ) and noren ( Japanese curtains ) to clothing with his original designs.
Katazome is a very time-consuming technique with many steps, and a piece of cloth is dyed through more than 20 processes.
